I was friends with Donald in the '80s and '90s, "played" (if you can use that word to describe my own synthesizer practice) on a record by DC noise jazz band Cool and the Clones, and did one gig with Borbetomagus that was also a disaster, but more due to my rental car having broken down and no audience by the time we made it. I hadn't been regularly in touch with him for a while but always imagined that I'd go to New Orleans one day and meet up with him.
